💬 What Nomads Say

Real reviews from digital nomads

Marcus T.
Remote Software Engineer • 4 months
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Brasília completely exceeded my expectations! As a digital nomad who's been to over 30 countries, I was surprised by how safe and organized this city is compared to other Brazilian destinations. The internet is rock solid - I consistently got 100+ Mbps in my Asa Norte apartment and never had a dropped video call. The architecture is mind-blowing, and watching the sunset from the JK Bridge became my daily ritual. Cost-wise, I spent around $1,500/month living very comfortably. The café scene is excellent with great specialty coffee shops perfect for working. Yes, Portuguese is essential, but that's part of the charm. Highly recommend for focused remote work."

⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Spent three months in Brasília while getting my digital nomad visa sorted. The city has a unique vibe - it's quieter than Rio or São Paulo but still has plenty to offer. The best part is feeling genuinely safe walking around, even at night in Asa Sul. Coworking options are decent but not as developed as bigger nomad hubs. I found the Regus space professional but pricey, so mostly worked from cafés. The dry season (June-September) was pleasant, but August got uncomfortably dry. Lake Paranoá is beautiful for weekend activities. Main downside: you really need a car or rely heavily on Uber since the metro doesn't cover tourist areas well."

⭐⭐⭐

"Brasília is a functional city but lacks the soul of other Brazilian destinations. I came for 2 months expecting a hidden gem and found a very governmental, planned city instead. The architecture is impressive but gets repetitive. Social life requires effort - weekends can feel dead as many locals leave for the coast. English is nearly non-existent outside tourist spots, which was challenging. On the plus side, my apartment in Sudoeste was modern and affordable at $450/month, internet never failed, and I felt safer here than anywhere else in Brazil. Good for productive work sprints, but I wouldn't recommend it for the full Brazilian experience."
