💬 What Nomads Say

Real reviews from digital nomads

Lucas M.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Floripa exceeded all my expectations as a digital nomad base. I spent 6 months here and loved every moment. The combination of affordable living, beautiful beaches, and decent internet made it perfect for my work-life balance. Lagoa da Conceição became my home base with plenty of cafes to work from. The surf in the mornings before opening my laptop was the best routine I've ever had. The food scene is incredible, especially the fresh seafood. Safety-wise, I never felt uncomfortable, even walking home late at night. The only downside is you really need some Portuguese to get around, but locals are patient and friendly. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a tropical yet productive destination."

⭐⭐⭐⭐

"I stayed in Campeche for 3 months and found it to be a lovely, quiet alternative to the busier Lagoa area. The beach is absolutely stunning and the surf was perfect for my intermediate level. Internet was reliable for my video calls, though I did experience a few power outages during storms. Cost of living was amazing - my furnished apartment cost R$1,800/month and I was walking distance from the beach. The biggest challenge was transportation; you really need a car or be comfortable with Uber to get around the island efficiently. The digital nomad community is smaller than places like Lisbon or Bali, but I made great connections at coworking events. If you're looking for a beautiful, safe, and affordable base in South America, Floripa delivers."

⭐⭐⭐

"My two months in Florianópolis had its ups and downs. The natural beauty is undeniable - the beaches and hiking trails are world-class. However, I found the internet speeds inconsistent, especially in Barra da Lagoa where I first stayed. Moving to Lagoa improved things significantly. The lack of English speakers was challenging at times, and getting around without a car was frustrating. Public buses exist but are slow and confusing to navigate. I also visited during January which was a mistake - extremely crowded, prices doubled, and beach parking was a nightmare. The shoulder season (April-May or October-November) seems ideal. Despite these issues, the affordable cost of living and friendly locals made it worthwhile. Just come prepared and manage your expectations about infrastructure."
