"Senggigi stole my heart! After the chaos of Bali, arriving here felt like a breath of fresh air. My monthly costs were around $650 including a lovely bungalow with garden for $300, eating at warungs for $2-3 per meal, and scooter rental for $50. The sunsets from Batu Bolong temple are absolutely magical. WiFi was my only challenge - I relied heavily on my Telkomsel SIM which worked well at 4G speeds. The local Sasak people are incredibly warm and I felt completely safe walking around day and night. Day trips to the Gilis kept weekends exciting. For budget-conscious nomads seeking paradise without the crowds, Senggigi is perfect."
"Spent 2 months in Senggigi working remotely. The good: incredibly cheap (spent about $800/month living comfortably), stunning beaches, friendly locals, and excellent diving. Cafe Alberto became my second office with decent WiFi. The challenging: internet is definitely not Bali-level, so I always had my phone hotspot as backup. No dedicated coworking spaces in town - you're working from cafes or your accommodation. Getting around requires a scooter as everything is spread out. Some taxi drivers tried to overcharge me initially. Overall though, for the price-to-paradise ratio, Senggigi delivers. Just don't come expecting Canggu-level nomad infrastructure."

The expat/nomad community is tiny compared to Bali or even Kuta Lombok. Healthcare options are basic. That said, if you're on a tight budget, can work offline sometimes, and want peace over community, it could work. I'd recommend starting in Kuta Lombok where the nomad scene is more developed, then visiting Senggigi for beach weekends."
