💬 What Nomads Say
Real reviews from digital nomads
"Timișoara has become my favorite base in Europe. The internet here is absolutely insane - I'm getting 500+ Mbps for about €10/month, which is unheard of anywhere else. The cost of living is ridiculously low: my nice one-bedroom in the center costs €400, and I eat out most nights for €5-8 per meal at excellent restaurants. The cafe culture is surprisingly developed with plenty of laptop-friendly spots. I especially love Brewno and Narativ for working. The city feels safe at all hours, the architecture is stunning, and being the 2023 European Capital of Culture meant lots of events and improvements. Only downside is winters are cold, but that's what coworking spaces are for!"
"Spent three months in Timișoara and had a mostly positive experience. The city really punches above its weight for its size - great cafes, beautiful squares, and a genuine local tech community. Cowork Timișoara was my go-to and the community there helped me make friends quickly. Food quality is excellent and cheap. However, the digital nomad scene is smaller than places like Lisbon or Bali, so don't expect packed nomad meetups. English is decent among younger people but can be challenging with older generations. The airport has limited international connections, so getting here sometimes requires layovers. Still, for the price and quality of life, it's hard to beat."
"Timișoara is a solid budget option but wasn't quite for me. Yes, the internet is blazing fast and everything is cheap, but I found the city a bit quiet for my taste. The nightlife exists but it's limited compared to larger cities. Winter was tough - it got down to -10°C some days and the gray weather affected my mood. The nomad community is small and scattered. I also struggled with some bureaucracy when trying to set up a local bank account. That said, if you're looking to hunker down and focus on work without distractions, this could be perfect. The food scene is genuinely great and the locals are friendly once you break the ice. Just set realistic expectations."
