💬 What Nomads Say

Real reviews from digital nomads

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Almería has been an absolute revelation! After three years of nomading through Spain, I finally found my perfect base. The cost of living is incredibly low - my one-bedroom apartment with sea views costs just €650/month including utilities. The weather is unbeatable with constant sunshine even in winter. The Cabo de Gata beaches are spectacular and rarely crowded. Internet is solid at 150Mbps fiber. The food scene is amazing with authentic tapas still served free with drinks. Yes, it's smaller and quieter than Barcelona or Valencia, but that's exactly what I love. The local community is welcoming and there's a small but growing group of remote workers. For anyone seeking authentic Spain without tourist prices, Almería is a hidden gem."

⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Solid choice for digital nomads seeking budget-friendly Mediterranean living. The coworking scene is limited but Workspace Coworking is excellent - great WiFi, lovely building, and friendly community. I pay around €1,200/month total including rent, food, and entertainment. The beaches are incredible, especially if you have a car to explore Cabo de Gata. Downsides: you really need some Spanish here as English levels are lower than in major cities. The international flight connections are limited so I usually fly via Madrid or Barcelona. Nightlife is quiet compared to bigger cities. But for focused work combined with beach life and authentic Spanish culture, it works really well. The locals are genuinely friendly once you make an effort with the language."

⭐⭐⭐

"Almería is perfect for certain types of nomads but wasn't quite right for me long-term. The pros are clear: amazing weather, beautiful beaches, very affordable, safe, and authentically Spanish. However, I found it too quiet after a while. The expat community is small and somewhat older (more retirees than digital nomads). Making friends took effort and required decent Spanish. The coworking options are limited. Getting anywhere else in Europe requires connections since the airport mainly serves seasonal routes. Summer was brutally hot - easily 35°C+. I'd recommend Almería for a 2-3 month stay, especially spring or autumn, or for those specifically wanting a quieter pace. For more social nomads or those needing better connections, Valencia or Malaga might be better fits."
