ποΈ Best Neighborhoods
Where to stay in Miami
Brickell
High-rise financial district south of Downtown with luxury apartments, rooftop bars and a dense cluster of offices. Very walkable for daily life if you live there, with easy access to coworking spaces, restaurants and the Metromover.
Wynwood & Midtown
Street-art-filled warehouse district turned arts and nightlife hub, plus neighbouring Midtown residential towers. Known for murals, galleries, cafΓ©s and bars. Lively and creative but can be noisy on weekends.
Miami Beach (South Beach & Mid-Beach)
Barrier island neighbourhood famous for its beaches, pastel Art Deco hotels and party scene. Great if you want to wake up near the ocean, but more touristy and expensive, with less everyday convenience than Brickell or Downtown.
Little Havana & MiMo / Upper Eastside
More local-feeling areas with classic low-rise housing, Cuban cafΓ©s and restaurants in Little Havana and mid-century motels turned trendy spots along Biscayne Boulevard in the MiMo district. Cheaper than Brickell and the Beach, but less walkable and more car-dependent.
ποΈ Top Attractions
Best things to do in Miami
South Beach & Ocean Drive
Iconic stretch of sand and palm trees backed by pastel Art Deco hotels and neon-lit bars. Perfect for sunrise walks, people-watching and classic Miami Beach photos along Ocean Drive.
Wynwood Walls
Outdoor museum and surrounding streets covered in large-scale murals and street art by international and local artists. Great spot for photography, cafΓ©-hopping and getting a feel for Miami's creative side.
Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
Historic waterfront estate with Italian-style villa, ornate interiors and subtropical gardens on Biscayne Bay. Offers a calmer, more old-world side of Miami with shaded paths and bay views.
Little Havana & Calle Ocho
Neighbourhood centred on Southwest 8th Street with cigar shops, domino parks, Cuban cafΓ©s and live music venues. Best for food, coffee and understanding Miami's Cuban heritage.
Bayside Marketplace & Bayfront Park
Open-air shopping and dining area on the bay next to a central park. Good for casual evenings, boat tours, live music and views of the Miami skyline and cruise ships.
Everglades National Park (Day Trip)
Day trip from Miami to explore the Everglades by airboat or hiking boardwalks. See alligators, birds and wide sawgrass marshes. A classic South Florida nature experience and a good break from city life.
PΓ©rez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)
Modern and contemporary art museum on Biscayne Bay with hanging gardens and outdoor terraces. Combines well with a stroll along the waterfront and nearby museums.
Miami Design District
Compact, high-end shopping and design neighbourhood with galleries, public art and upscale cafΓ©s. Good for architecture, window shopping and people-watching.

π¬ What Nomads Say
Real reviews from digital nomads
"I used Miami as a winter base for three months in Brickell and it worked well overall. Internet at home was 300+ Mbps and coworking at a space in Brickell was excellent. The downside is the cost β I was paying over $3,000 for a one-bedroom, plus expensive eating out. If you earn good USD and want warmth, beaches and nightlife without leaving the US, it is hard to beat."
"Miami is fun but not cheap. I stayed in Little Havana and used coworking in Wynwood and Midtown. Costs were still high compared to Mexico or Colombia, but the mix of Latin culture and US infrastructure was great. I would not choose it as a long-term nomad base, but for one or two months in winter it is perfect."
"I spent six weeks in Miami Beach and then Brickell. South Beach was too touristy and party-heavy for everyday work, but Brickell felt like a compact, walkable urban bubble with gyms, cafΓ©s and coworking all nearby. Expect to rely on Uber if you explore beyond your neighbourhood and definitely budget more than you would for similar comfort in Europe or Latin America."
